PennSTAR
The PennSTAR program, which is funded by a $500,000 grant from DEP (The Department of Environmental Protection), trains collision refinishing technicians to reduce their material consumption.
PennSTAR approaches improving the efficiency of manual spray by concentrating on the technician. The PennSTAR program teaches the technicians how they can better optimize their spray efficiency. By altering spraying techniques it's possible to reduce over-spray without sacrificing the finish quality, thus reducing material consumption cost, pollution, and waste.
PennSTAR Advantages
- Save material cost
- Reduce waste and pollution
- Comply with MERR regulations
PennSTAR Topics
- Define spray efficiency and its importance.
- Review factors that a technician does and does not have control over.
- Review advanced techniques that can significantly decrease material use and pollution through increased spray efficiency, while still maintaining a high quality finish.
- Access the cost benefit of increasing transfer efficiency.
