MERR Regulations
Since November 2000 the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has required that spray paint guns, gun cleaning systems and refinishing materials used in businesses meet clean air regulations.
To comply with law, every Pennsylvania MERR shop is required to provide training for all employees in the proper use and handling of coatings and solvents. The shop also must keep updated records documenting compliance.
